Can anyone please guide me as to the availability of any records of employees in the Yorkshire Mills in the mid 1850s - probably around the Bradford area.
Thank you

Hi BJM
The type of records you are looking for are virtually non-existent unless the person you are researching was a member of staff in which case there could be a mention of the name in minutes of meetings or suchlike.
It is possible that records might be held in a private collection or in the archives of the particular mill. Are you able to give us any more information?
Have you tried A2A ?

Have a look at the online catalogue of the West Yorks Archive Service - I don't know whether all of this is reflected in A2A as mentioned in the previous post. If no joy, it might be best to contact the archivists and see what they know. One commpany I'm interested in (iron, not a mill) has a huge extent of records deposited there, so you never know. http://catalogue.wyjs.org.uk/
