				Hi there

I've just got a new name in my MGY researches. Rosmamond RANDLES married William JONES in Llandrinio in 1837

Rosamond's father is listed as Thomas Randles, miller. I'm hoping he's still alive in 1841.

William's father is listed as Richard jones, wheelwright, but appreciate Jones' ar e lot harder to pin down

 all help much appreciated

 Cheers!

				Hello

I do not have access to the 1841 census.  However, I do have the 1851 & 1861, and if you have not already had info from these censuses in respect of Thomas Randles & Richard Jones, please come back to me and I will let you have the details I've found which could be the ones you are looking for.

				Hi EC

The only Thomas Randles, described as a Miller,in 1851 is as follows:

 Living at Mill, Llanymynech, Mtg.
Thomas Randles (48) miller, b. Kinnerley, Salop
Elizabeth Randles (44) his wife, b. Trefonen, Salop
 Children: James (19) b. Trefonen, Thomas (17) b. Trefonen
 John (12) b. Trebach, Salop, Samuel (9) b. Trebach, Ellen (6) b. Llanymynech, Mtg.
Bearing in mind Rosamond Randles married in 1837, 14 years before this census, casts some doubt on whether the above are her parents and siblings.

 Living at Trederwen, Llandrinio
Richard Jones (79) wheelwright, b. Shrewsbury, Salop
Mary Jones (70) wheelwright, b. Llandrinio, Mtg.
Robert Jones (29) wheelwright, b. Llandrinio
Tryphenah Jones (28) his wife, b. Llandrinio
their children, James (8), Thomas (6) and Alice (3) all born Llandrinio.

Unfortunately I cannot find either of these families on the 1861 census. It appears that this area may have come under 'Salop' in 1861, and therefore a look-up in the Shropshire 1861 census may prove useful.

 Good luck
 Stan.

Further to my post of a few minutes ago this seems too much of a coincidence................
Same reference as before, just 2 households removed
 All surnames Jones
 Thomas, 35, Wheelwright, N
 Martha, 35, Y
 Mary, 12, Y
 Martha, 10, Y
 John, 6, Y
 Ann, 2, Y

Could not find Thomas Randles the Miller in Llandrinio in 1841.   But looking at a previous post, if Samuel was born in Trebach, Salop around 1842, the family probably hadn't moved there yet.
 Hope it helps

				Brynhyfryd --
I am replying to an old posting of yours on this thread from 2005.
I've been unable to find the Thomas Randles (age 48) you mention, or any of his family , on ancestry.com. Wondering where you found it and if I can get a copy/scan of the page?
I'm a descendent of Elizabeth Randles from the Carreghofa area .

They are mis-transcribed on Ancestry in 1851 as Ranelli
The census ref is Piece  2499  Folio 544  Page 2

In 1841 they are at Treflach,Oswestry
 Census ref  Piece  915  Book/Folio  2/74  Page 6

Roger, thanks a million. They're Ranelli in 1851, Randler in 1841 ! No wonder I can never find anything.

This is probably too late to be of use, but I have some information on the Randles family of Carreghofa. Several were millers.

There was an elder Thomas, died around 1844. One of his children was Rosamund (born 1813) who married William Jones around 1837. Thomas the elder married Elizabeth Onslow of Shawbury, Salop in 1797. Rosamund's elder sister Elizabeth (b.1810) married David Williams, a blacksmith (my GGG grandparents.)

Thomas had a son Thomas, born around 1801, who married Elizabeth Tudor of Oswestry in 1830.
