Hi,

I am looking for the baptism of a Robert Cant 1805C  in Manningtree, possibly Wesleyan Church. Can anybody help?

Hi Sue,

I just checked the Essex Record Office, apparently the files for Baptism's from 1795 - 1837 at the Manningtree Wesleyan Methodist Church are available at the National Archive.

do not know how close this is to manningtree
but this is the only one i could find
robert illegitamate son of robert finch and kexiah cant was baptised on the 27th dec 1807 at st ethelbert and all saints,belchamp otten,essex

Hi,

Thanks everyone for their contribution especially 'suffolk sue'. Is it possible to see if you can find a marriage for this Thomas and Mary Cant?
I have copies of letters written by my 5x great grandmother, Martha Green nee Orford in which she mentions her grandson, Robert Cant. I would like to find a marriage between a Mr Cant and a Miss Green.
I would appreciate any help.
