I wonder if someone can help me decipher the name of the place in the last paragraph on page 2 of this Will.
http://applications.proni.gov.uk/dcal_proni_willscalendar/WillsSearch.aspx
The persons name who left the Will is HENRY CAULFIELD.
It looks to me like it says,
"I give ?devise and bequeath all that portion of the townland of GALAN in the county TYRONE which I purchased in the *** Landed Estates Court "
But I am not sure about the GALAN part as it is a long way from Monaghan where the person lived.
Thank you in advance for any help.

I think it says Golan. There seems to be several places of this name, one quite near Monaghan but that's not (now) in Co. Tyrone, though it is close to the border. I'm not sure if historically it may have been. There's a Golan townland near Aughnacloy in Co. Tyrone, quite near to Monaghan, which I'm thinking is more likely. There also seems to be another Golan near Omagh.

Thank you for that, I will check it out and see if I can locate it in the 1901 Census return.
