Does anyone know please if there is a free site to check incoming passengers to UK from USA at the end of the 19th century? If there is a kind person out there who would be prepared to check for me that would be great.
The passenger I am looking for is Thomas Rees born Swansea in Jan 1861. Believed to have travelled on the Saint Louis from Southampton arriving at Ellis Island on 21 Sept 1895. It is believed he probably returned to UK before 1901.
If anyone can find his return details I should be so grateful. Thank you.
Ann.

Thanks Stonechat - I doubt if either of these are the Thomas Rees we are looking for. For one thing we know he didn't have a middle initial - and he definitely wasn't a clerk. The other one is also unlikely as he was into tin & copper working, not carpentry. Thank you so much for your trouble though.
Since I posted that query, we have found that 3 of his brothers also emigrated to the US: William (c 1857) went over in 1892 on the Adriatic. At some stage he returned to Swansea, his home town - because in 1902 he was returning to the States as a US citizen on the Germanic. His brother John Rees (c1854)went out in 1894 and Thomas & brother Phillip(c1853) travelled over together in 1895 on the Saint Louis. We know that William & Thomas both eventually returned home to stay - not sure about the others. If you have the time, and could find any of them for us, we should be so grateful.
