Could some one kindly look up the following information in the Liverpool Trade Directories - period 1830 - 1850
James O'Brien - occupation Carver and Guilder
Living in Milton Street in 1841 census
Born in Ireland circa 1801
Living in 1852 in Hornsby Street
Died in 1861
We are trying to find confirmation of his trade in 1 of the trade directories e.g Gore 1830 to 1850
Thanks in advance - Margaret

Have just posted this on a totally different thread! Which might have been yours or might not, ::) anyway here it is again
Hi M :)
Not from a directory, but there is a marriage on Lancashire OPC for a daughter:
3 Oct 1850 St Martin in the Fields, Vauxhall district, Liverpool
Joseph Dickman - Full Gilder Bachelor of Church St
Rosanna O'Brien - Minor Spinster of Elgin St
Groom's Father: Thomas Dickman, Mariner
Bride's Father: James O'Brien, Gilder
Witness: Edward Dyas, (X); Margaret Condon, (X)

So if that is the right family, he might have been at Elgin St in 1850.
According to 1861 census, Rosanna was born in Liverpool around 1833

There's a James O'Brien in the 1851 census, a gilder aged 50 from Ireland.
Address looks like 76H Portland Street, Liverpool.
Living with him is son Thomas O'Brien, an errand boy aged 14, born Liverpool.
