Title: Possible distant cousin ?
Post by: arty on Saturday 28 April 12 07:30 BST (UK)
Joseph Moore, baptised May 6 1831, Warminster, Wilts.  Have found him on 1841 census but then disappears. Could he be the same one who sailed to Port Phillip Bay in Aus. on the ship "Queen of England, arriived Aus.Dec.1852 ? Possible gold rusher? Was living in Victoria in 1900 age 69.
Have cross checked where possible but can't confirm if he is my distant cousin 3 times removed. Would birth details etc be on travel documents ?
How can I confirm this is the right Joseph Moore ?

Sincere thanks if anyone can help or suggest how I can confirm this is my rellie !

P.s. There are other Joseph Moores with 1831 birthdates but these don't match in other ways. ::)

I have only found one Joseph Moore born in Warminster in 1831 and has parents Robert and Elizabeth.
He is still living in Warminster with the same parents in 1851 and is a tap boy. In 1861 he is married, a stoker and on board a ship with the Royal Navy.
