Post by: Gillian Mauchan on Friday 27 April 12 00:47 BST (UK)
Is anyone else having issues getting into the site? I've not been able to get into it for a couple of days now

I haven't been able to log on since early yesterday. The site, and other IGI sites, just time out.

Try

Family pilot - This is another name for the same site. I think it is on a different server etc.

Schooner is correct. I had this site on my Favourites but couldn't get through because the old site is apparently closed now.

Familysearch.org does take you to the new site if manually typed in. It worked yesterday and today with no problems. The new site is now my new Favourite.

For me the old blue site was "under maintenance" for a few days, but it's back up now.

I take it you mean this one:

I'm also having difficulties - tried typing in the url , clicking on links and google searches limited to the last 24 hours but it times out.

Maybe its an Aussie based problem seeing as Darryl and I are both in Sydney - will have to contain my curiosity for the South African Anglican records for a while!

Guess you were right. The old site is back on line using the link you posted. The new site is working fine too which dispells Gillian's theory as I live in Sydney as well.

Here in Brisbane not connecting at all.. not been able to use the site for the past day or so... nor the IGI Custom Search page....

Wonder if it is an Aussie based problem with the LDS.

This is quite a mystery & a nuisance. I still can't get on to familysearch. I've tried both firefox and IE. I've tried my bookmarks and linking through google with no joy either. I've tried the typing th eaddress as well. I managed to get the old IGI maps up after a long wait but couldn't get through to familysearch from the embedded link.  >:(

G'day Les. That's the same as my bookmark. Tried it from your link for the same result - timed out.

There's certainly something weird afoot!

Thanks for trying to help.

Cheers, Darryl

Rang our ISP last night - brilliant service - it was up within 10 minutes. They thought the problem was a recent upgrade -
