Does anyone know if the cemetery at St George's CoI, Dublin still exists? Also if the headstones are mostly still there or have been recorded?
I am interested in particular in a Nathaniel G Hurst, who died in January 1899 at the age of 45 years, and for whom a headstone fee was paid. A George Hurst, of the same address, died in 1900, age 43.

I dont think there was ever room for a cemetery at the church itself - you can see the building on street view : St. George's Place (http://www.google.ie/maps?ll=53.357141,-6.262625&spn=0.00179,0.003224&hnear=Dublin,+County+Dublin&t=m&z=18&layer=c&cbll=53.35707,-6.262718&panoid=9hGyOK3H-JMlUNIIU69j6g&cbp=12,4.75,,0,-15.09)
The associated graveyard was on Whitworth Road, Drumcondra. I dont see any listing of Memorial Inscriptions, but death/burial records are on IrishGenealogy website and in the RCBL. See : http://dublinheritage.ie/graveyards/search.php

Thanks Shane,
the link you gave says that the cemetery is now a play area withe the gravestones around the walls.
What a pity, I was up that way just a few weeks ago, but didn't know.
If anyone is walking by there and can spot the stone for the HURSTS, I would be very interested to see a picture or know what is says. I'd never heard of them but my family (names McLOUGHLIN and CUTHBERT) were living at the address in St Ignatius Road that they were buried from, at that time.
[added: and yes, I found the burial records and the record for the purchase of the Headstone on the irishgenealogy site]

There's no sign of that graveyard on either of the historic OSI maps, so I think it was probably closed by the dates you mentioned. The playground looks to be just north east of St. George's. The cemetery on Whitworth Rd. is still intact..
I'll keep an eye out for MI's for either...

found the older graveyard - it was beside the old parish church called Little George's and further south on Temple St. Lower, now named Hill Street.
See : Little George's Church (http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,715937,735218,7,7) (OSI 1st Ed.)
Google map : site of old church on Hill Street (http://www.google.ie/maps?q=hill+street&hl=en&ll=53.354226,-6.258565&spn=0.000901,0.001612&sll=53.354299,-6.258911&sspn=0.000901,0.001612&t=h&hnear=Hill+St,+Dublin+1&z=19)
The other playground I mentioned to the north east of the 'newer' St. George's is not related.

I am very interested in "little George's Charch" grave yard as I believe that my ancestor,Thomas Dalrymple, his parents, wife Rebecca Dalrymple nee Walker and 3 of his children, 2 named Richard and Thomas, are possibly buried there. Thomas died in 1779 and his will says he wants to be buried with his parents, wife and children at Drumcondra. He was an attorney in Dublin and is said to be the brother of the Earl of Stair, but we are unable to find out who his father was
