Dear All
I was wondering if anyone out there could help with my relative above. I have her marriage cert to philip Dixon in Surbiton in 1925, where she states shes 20 (so born approx 1905) with her father Robert Martin Thorogood (occ. Butcher)still alive. But I cannot find her birth or Mother. The only Elizabeth Agnes Thorogood I can find on the 1911 census is living with a completely unrelated family no Robert in sight.
I'm confused and wonder if anyone can help me.
Thanks in hope of some sort of an answer.

Hi
Looking at that entry, especially as her two names are the same, there could be some connection, as one of the people on it is listed as a butcher's roundsman. I wonder if her mother died and she was left with relatives? I cant find a birth for her though.
There is an unmarried Robert Thorogood, a butcher's assistant in Brentford.

I wondered if this was her parents marriage :-\
Marriages Sep 1907
Burstow Isabella
CREES Louisa Mary
DENBY Alfred Harry
THOROGOOD Robert
There is an Isabella Thorogood on the 1911 index
THOROGOOD ISABELLA F 1870 41 Kingston Surrey ::)

Just beat me to it :)
There is a birth reg for Elizabeth Agnes Burstow , Kingston JAS 1905
There is a death reg for an Elizabeth Agnes Dixon in Brentwood ond 1978 which gives date of birth as 26 th June 1905, which would tally.

Isabella Burstow aged 27 is a servant in Chiswick in 1901 1200/136/31 she was born in Brighton.
Using the free 1911 census search, there are only 2 Isabella Thorogoods - one is in Kingston Surrey so might be worth looking at.

Thanks to all of you. You have all come to the same assumptions as me. maybe she was really Elizabeth Agnes Burstow as there is one on the free BMD at the right time. but why she has been left by her Parents in 1911 who knows? Did they have a form of fostering then when parents couldn't cope? Thank you all so much as I was just going round in circles.

Census only show where they are on the night it is taken, if her mother was working away she could just have been staying with friends. ;)

Hi
I hope you are right. Her husband Philip Dixon was in the NCH Childrens home in 1911 so it would be sad to think both were abandoned. Thanks again
