Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could look up the marriage of Francis Dawson, of the parish of Bracon Ash,
and Jemima Fisk April 1799 - I'm tying to find the parents of Jemima or if there is another way to find out who they are as I seem to have hit a brick wall :(
Thank you in advance :)
Regards
Lesleyann

a 1799 marriage record will not contain parental information (with the exception of "Dade" registers). if she survived to census, look for baptisms based on census information.

Hello Majik,
Can you tell us where you found the details for the marriage you mention? I've looked at the Bracon Ash registers, and it isn't there.

Hi Yorkslass,
I connected to another members tree via ancestry who have the bann info, not sure where they found it I'm affraid but here is the info they have.
Bracon Ash, Norfolk, England

Hi again,
The marriage was in Bergh Apton - here it is from the Norfolk Parish Registers -
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-11709-31987-92?cc=1416598&wc=MMVP-SKC:n1841793232
Couldn't find a baptism for Jemima either Bergh Apton or Bracon Ash.

Thank you Yorkslass, I will correct where the marriage place on my tree now.
Jemima seems to be a mystery, not sure where the witness Robert Fisk fits in - brother, uncle maybe?

Hi Lesleyann,
I had a look on Freereg and came up with a possible baptism for Jemima at Yelverton, which is about a mile away from Bergh Apton
It's very difficult to read, but looks like "Jemima daugh of Robt & Sarah Fisk, May 29" - this was 1774.
It's on the right hand page, fifth one down from "1774"

I tried to find Jemima's baptism (found the one at Yelverton) But when I found Francis and her children
Mary 1800 Caroline 1804 and Anne 1811, There is a note on the bottom to say Jemima nee Fisk was received into the church 01.12.1811.
I have also noticed on a Ancestry tree that they have given the parents of Jemima as Robert Fisk and Sarah Alderton. The birth at Yelverton 29.05.1775 the parents are given as Robert Fisk and Sarah.

Hi Alwina,
I think you'll find that it was the daughter, Anne, who was received into the church on 1 December 1811.
I've had a look at the entry, and it shows that Anne was born 25 October, privately baptised 28 November and received into the church 1 December 1811.

Hi Yorkslass
Where did you find the original I could only find the transcription?

Hello again,
I found it on the Archdeacons Transcripts - luckily, as they end in 1812, and there are no parish registers online for Bracon Ash.
