Walter was killed in action 16/09/1916. His Service number is 4576. 15th Reg 9th Battalion.
Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour states he is buried at Railway Dugouts Burial Grounds, Belgium.
Have sighted his Service Record, but can not find a record of where he was actually killed.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jack,
The Australian War Memorial Site has WW1 diary records
https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/records/awm4/23/26/awm4-23-26-21.pdf
Might find something for the 9th Battalion 16th September 1916.

Thank you so much Gerry, Rayleen and McGreevy.
Puzzle now solved. ( Did not die at Gallipoli as the family story goes).
Yes , Walter and Ernest were brothers. Must have enlisted together as there Service numbers are 4576
( Walter) & 4575 ( Ernest ). Ernest served in Egypt but returned home due to illness.
Both sites recommended by Gerry and McGreevy are brilliant. When searching the "Queenslanders who fought in the Great War " site we came across the photo's of the two brothers. They both have the same facial features of another brother George, my wife's Grandfather. It was a very moving moment.
This site is a must for anyone searching for Queenslanders who fought in WW1.
Kind regards to all.

Hi Rayleen,
Yes it was a good outcome. With ANZAC coming up my wife wondered where he was buried as she was told he was killed at Gallipoli when she was young.
Thanks for your help once again.
