John Harris & Mary Stokes married in 1808 at Upper Arley Staffordshire.
In 1841 they were living in Kidderminster. On the 1841 census they have Mary Harris living with them age 12.
They are 60 & 65 respectively so she can't be their Daughter.
In 1851 Mary is still with them as Mary Harris Hinton/Henton Daughter Marr age 22 b. Kidderminster
Also living with them is John Baker Boarder age 23 and in 1852 he & Mary marry.
I assume Mary is their Grand daughter but I can't find John & Mary's children.
Can anyone help me find their children so I can find young Mary's parents. She was born abt 1829 Kidderminster so they may have had their children in Upper Arley or Kidderminster.
I have posted this message on the Staffordshire board also
Thankyou

The 1851 entry suggests an earlier marriage - does the 1852 marriage cert show her as a widow? I notice she married as Harris - not Hinton/Henton
What fathers name does she give on that cert
West Mids BMD shows the marriage was at Pensnett, St Mark

Hi
(sorry Carole - doubled up! I found the marriage transcript though, on Family Search)
The 1851 Census where she is listed as Mary Harris HINTON (HENTON?) - has her listed as married (and John Baker as unmarried)
HO107 - Piece: 2038- Folio: 530- Page: 39
So could her marriage to BAKER be her second?
In Sep Qtr 1845, Kidderminster is a marriage, these 2 people on the page::
George HINTON
Mary Harris JONES
But then we have:
https://familysearch.org
MARRIAGE 10 Oct 1852 at Pensnett, Stafford
John BAKER, single, 25, Father: John BAKER
Mary HARRIS, single, 24, Father: John HARRIS
So maybe the 'married' status in 1851 is an error?
I wonder why they married in Pensnett? In 1861 they're in Kiddminster - eldest child Rosannah age 9 - is that them? What do the birth certs for Mary's children say abt her maiden name?
Cheers

thankyou for your help.In 1861, they are still living with John & Mary Harris. they have entered John Baker twice.
Mary Baker is above John Harris. No children.
I found that marriage with George Hinton & Mary Harris Jones. It intrigued me because Jones is also a family name.
In the 1851 census the other boarder is Alfred Russell. He was my G Grandfather and what got me interested in the family. It turns out that Mary Harris's maiden name was Stokes. My GG Grandmother was Jane Jones(Alfred Russells mother) and her mother was Elizabeth Stokes. Mary's cousin. So Alfred was staying with family.
Did one of the Jones get Mary's mother pregnant?
I also found a death of a George Hinton 1847 Droitwich. Is that quite near to Kidderminster?

I haven't got the Marriage cert. I might have to rectify that. At the time they weren't close enough to purchase one
Now I want to solve the mystery.

Looked on Family Search and found baptism of Mary Jones 1 Feb 1829 Cradley. Mother Sarah. No Father
Death of Sarah Jones 25 Jan 1829 Dudley.
I know Jones is a very common name and it could be anyone but I can't help thinking about my GG Grandmother Jane Jones had a sister b.1799 named Sarah and I can't find her anywhere.
Am I putting 2 & 2 together and making 5/
