I have a 1925 directory of Mitcham, 33 Fountain Road is listed as occupied by William Baxall.

There is also a birth for an Annie Wilkes. Oct-Dec 1887, Croydon 2a. 287.

But this one married in 1906.

This looks the more likely 1891 census for Eliza

Church Road, Mitcham, Surrey 602/36/28

W.H. Wilkes, 31, Railway Servant, born Tooting Surrey.
Cornelia Wilkes, 29, born Mitcham Surrey.
Eliza M. Wilkes, 3, born Mitcham Surrey.

That does look a better match, Mark. Strange though that Eliza also seems to have married a Boxall.

Right I think I've worked this out ;D

I've noticed you've mentioned the name Lane as well, There's an Annie R Wilkes married to an Alfred Lane in Mitcham in 1923.

Annie Rebecca Wilkes was at 33 Fountain Road in 1911, born abt 1903, daughter of Henry and Eliza.

So looks like Eliza became a Boxall and Annie a Lane.

Possible death for Annie (abt. 1902) - Annie R Lane, Jul-Sep 1954, Surrey North Eastern.

Burial - 29 Jul 1954, London Road Cemetery, Merton.

The Wilkes and Boxall's are part of my father in laws family I am researching.  I have quite a bit of info on the offspring and siblings and am slowly working back.  Does anyone have any photos of the Wilkes or Boxalls?
