I stumbled across this site whilst looking for any photos of the Broadheath area around 1940-1975.
I was born just across Manchester road from what is now "Atlantic retail park" and was wanting to find photos of the houses.
I would be really grateful if anyone can point me at any pictures of them

Just reading this posting by Darkmyst, I was thrilled to bits to find my dad mentioned, bless him!
I think I have some slides of him in the training school, if I can dig 'em out!
Thanks to JDGen for "Putting me in my place! ;D"

Hi six-h,
Are you researching the name VOST in Cheshire? I might be able to help if you are...
Jean

Hi Jean, Thanks for the offer; I've not done much research myself, and I would be interested to receive any help or advice.
-
Hi six-h,
I have a Sid VOST born in 1913 in my tree - could this be your father?
Jean
-
Oh yes!
That's him if it's 22nd june.
-
I don't have an exact date of birth, but was his mother Sarah Ellen VOST?
I'll send you a personal message...
Jean
-
That's exactly right!
Are we related then? :)
-
No, further back one of the Vosts married twice and I'm connected to the second wife while you are descended from the first wife!
But I can help you with information for your family.
Sarah Ellen Vost was the daughter of Henry Vost and Alice Molesdale who married in 1882 at Rostherne. The Vost family seem to come from the Rostherne area.
Henry was the son of Samuel Vost and his first wife Ann Rowlinson who married at Rostherne in 1849. His second wife was Jane Proudman who is related to my line.
Samuel was the son of William Vost and Alice Maguire who married in 1819 at Rostherne. William was born in 1795 so you have your line all the way back to the eighteenth century!
I'll have to check through but I do have a bit more information.

Hello Jen, ...that is if you are still on this forum!
back in 2012, your last post said I'll have to check through but I do have a bit more information.
I have just been browsing the "Churchills - Richards" thread again, in need of an experienced Engineer to help with some unearthed treasure of my dad's, when I came across this!
I had visions of you on hands and knees somewhere still searching ;D
Scrap that! Must be having a senior moment!
Just re-read your PM which got my brain working again!
Still not managed to find that "Time" which is so elusive in order to further my search!
