Can anyone help please. I have just looked at the 1911 census and found out that my grt grandad Henry Dannatt born 1852 South Owersby Lincs married to Harriet Ferraby had 10 children born alive and 6 were still living and 4 had died.
I have just been to the library to check for christenings for the years 1869 to 1899 for South Kelsey and the micro fiche was too dark and I could not make anything out. I have checked all the census from 1871 to 1911 and there are no extra names.....I have found George b 1870, Harry b 1878, Jessie b 1881, Alice b 1883, Charles F b 1886, Gertie b 1889 and Florrie b 1893 so I have 3 children missing.
I am guessing the missing children were born and died in between the censuses. Without spending a lot of money buying a lot of birth & death certificates for children registered at Caistor in the between the years 1871 to 1899 what can I do?
My gut feeling tells me the births could be between 1871 to 1877 for there appears 2/3 years between the other births. ???

Possibilities ... DANNATT babies born and died aged 0 in Caistor district, 1870-95
1872 Mary Ann
1880 Willie
1886 Herbert
1888 Nellie
1892 Elsie Charlotte
1894/5 Edith
You may be able to eliminate some of these if the birth dates are too close to those which are yours. :) e.g. Herbert clashes with Charles.

To narrow it down a little, have found the following burials at South Kelsey:
Arthur infant, bur.31/10/1869 (his birth and death reg'd Dec.qtr.1869 so possibly born soon after their marriage in Sept.qtr.1869)
Mary Ann infant bur.29/7/1872 (birth reg'd Sept.1872)
Willie infant bur.3/3/1880 (birth reg'd Mar.1880)
Charlie infant bur.12/12/1882 (birth reg'd Dec.1882 as Charles)
(Plus the Charles Farraby b.1886 whom you have was bur.13/9/1887).
