hello tinam
thank you for the reply,22 eastham street is the last adress i have for them of the 1939 electoral role,i believe its in lancaster not sure where sorry .

Hi :)
Eastham St is still there right in the middle of Lancaster.
Have you any idea when they were born?
It could help tracking their deaths.
There's one for Clara but it's in the West Riding..
Tks

hi tina,
i belive clara may of been born in scotforth but i cant be positive as its information ive got of ancestry.co.uk,daniel was born in adlington.
its possible sarah and wilfred robinson might of berid them and possibly owened the berial land as sarah was there daughter who payed for and berid several other relatives.
-
im also looking for a story on william murtagh who died in in garstang in 1965 when the road he was working on collapsed,i believe it was a big story at the time as he was only 32 and left 11 children behind, his wife was called teressa.
thanks in advance

Hi
I would suggest you start another post for Wm M, rather than tagging onto this one.

Hi, hope this helps, and as I come from that part of the world can help with other details if needed, although we live abroad now.
Daniel Airey born1886 in Poulton-le-Sands which is part of Morecambe next to Lancaster. His name has been spelt Ayrey in 1901 census.
Date of marriage to Clara Atkinson1906, either at Lancaster Reg Office or in a Catholic church as registrar attended.
If Clara was Catholic, the main church in Scotforth is St Bernadettes, although it is also possible they got married at St Peters, which is the Cathedral.
-
Further info is that Clara´s mother was called Sowerbutts
-
Thank you Lynn for your great information.
Lancs OPC have a baptism for Daniel
13.9.1885 Holy Trinity Poulton le Sands
to Thomas fisherman & Sarah

thank you very much for that information ladies,it confirms im finaly on the right path as the details you gave me match my tree but heres where my headache starts......
daniel and claras daughter sarah married a wilfred robinson in dec 1931 and in september 1932 they had a daughter doreen and when she passed in 1934 wilfred bought her grave plot and paid for her funeral with cash,
daniel and clara had another daughter annie airey born 1921 who married john murtagh in 1945 and in 1946 there first child was still born and was berid with doreen, sarah and wilfreds daughter.
annie lost another child in dec 1952 who was also berid with doreen and when annie died in 1953 she was also berid with doreen.
daniel and clara died in 1948 so why wasnt they berid with doreen as i know there was enought room,i know buy censuses that clara and daniel lived with wilf and sarah.
thanks again .

thank you so much for that lyn,i realy do appreciate it.
busy day for me today now :D
-
I enjoyed doing it, as I had hit a brick wall in my own research. If you find out about the burials let me know as I would like to know the end of the story. Lynn
-
thank you lyn
ive had nothing but brick walls in the past and a few suprises along the way,my mother was always led to believe that sarah ann was infact her gran so for the best part of 6 months we hit nothing but brick walls untill someone on here sussed that sarah would of been a mother figure to annie with there parents dying so daniel and clara was a bit of a suprise to us all.
i started the tree with my mother just over 2 years ago and sadly she passed last year but im determined to carry on.

In response to your PM Lisa -
Getting there slowly!
From the Lancaster Guardian microfilms in the library:
15th October 1948
In the Death notices
'AIREY October 10th at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Clara age 69, beloved wife of Daniel Airey'
and small article in same paper
'Death Follows Fall. A few days after being admitted to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with a fractured femur, Mrs Clara Airey (69) of Eastham St died on Sunday. The injuries were sustained when she tripped over a carpet and fell in the kitchen at her home'
29th October 1948
In the Death notices
'AIREY On October 24th, suddenly, Daniel Airey of 22 Eastham St, aged 63 years. "Re-united" '
No details of funeral unfortunately. I did check the acknowledgements for the next week but nothing.
But now we have dates I can email the cemeteries department on Monday and see if they have anything in the council cemetery records. they'll be closed for the weekend now.

morning barbara
thank you so much for that barbara,i realy am greatfull for all the information you have taken your time to find for me ;)
let me know if you have the old pms i sent you about there daughter sarah as in 1934 daniel and clara was at eastham street and the house was owned by sarahs husband wilfred and it was wilfred if you remember who berid and paid for for several of daniel and claras relatives from 1944 to 1953 so im wondering if daniel and clara are also berid in quernmoore.
know im getting confused lol
-
Morning!
Just receive a email from the cemetery to say that Daniel and Clara are buried in the Quernmore Road cemetery in the non-conformist section.
I hadn't got your previous PMs, so I can't remember whereabouts in the cemetery the other family grave was. but I'll send you the details so you can see if they are close together.
Daniel was the grave owner so he must have 'pre-ordered' it. That's why they aren't in the grave that Wilfred paid for.
Also in the grave with Daniel and Clara there is a Thomas Airey, buried 3rd August 1990, aged 83 years.
Not Daniel and Clara's son, so maybe a nephew?
Another puzzle for you!
