Hi Sue
Thomas King's marriage is transcribed on www.forest-of-dean.net (free site though you have to register)
From the same site, this seems to be his baptism - 9 Aug 1835, Westbury on Severn, s/o Isaac and Elizabeth of Flaxley.
Also 13 Oct 1822, Westbury on Severn, marriage of Isaac King and Elizabeth Barns.
Can't find him on the 1881 census unless he is the Thomas King lodging in Barton St Mary, Gloucester, but I am pretty sure this is him in 1891
56 Hare Lane, Gloucester St John the Baptist
Thomas King M 56 home Mouk Hill, Glos in last column Chronic Rheumatic 30 years
Sarah King M 56 Laundress Westbury on Severn
Ancestry has transcribed his PoB as Mouk Hill, but there is an area called MonkHill Woods just north of Flaxley, and his baptism says the family were from Flaxley.
Not found children, or got further yet.
Cheers

Hi again
Less certain of this, but the clues are suggestive.
1901 census, Tredworth Gloucester - Folio 2431 piece 135 page 15
Thomas (aged 71) and Sarah (aged 62) King are boarders with the Haines family. PoB for both given as Popes Hill, which again is near Flaxley and Westbury on Severn.
In the same household is an Emily Haines, sister in law, aged 34, born Hereford. In 1886 Emily Harriet Hannah King married William Haines at St James' Gloucester. A check on the PR would see if this is the Emily from the 1871 census - the enumerator could have misread Hereford as Hertford when transferring the information.
Unfortunately I can't find a record of an Emily (or Francis) born in Herefordshire around the right date on FreeBMD, but given the varying ages, PoBs etc, it may not be correct - or of course the children may not have been registered.
This may give you some further clues to follow up.

Hello,
I know this is quite an old thread, but we are descended from Emily H H King. She is our ggg grandmother. We found her in the census 1891 & 1911, married to William Haines. There is no sign of Thomas and Sarah King living with them in those years.
Thanks for all the helpful pointers in this thread. :)
