Title: Completed Barnhill Poorhouse - Julius Norval
Post by: KMurray on Monday 16 April 12 14:53 BST (UK)
Julius Norval was the assistant governor of Barnhill in the 1880s until he committed suicide there in 1888.  I am hoping to find a photograph of him and assume that something should exist of the staff, solo or group.

Thanks for your help.

Is this helpful?

Go to the Virtual Mitchell web site:  http://www.mitchelllibrary.org/virtualmitchell/index.php

Search "Barnhill Poorhouse" and you'll find a group photo.

It appears to be well after the date you are looking for.  Nevertheless the date given is an estimate.  The superintendent is a Mr Core. Does that tie in with your research?

Thank you for your help. I had seen this photo and hoped that there might be earlier group photos that might include Norval.  Thanks though for taking the time to bring it to my attention.
