Correct family.  Wasn't aware women were recorded too.

Could you please see if there is a Jane Ellen surname Pierce/Pearce or Morgan.

The only Jane E Pearce remotely near Coonamble is at Young with a Husband Thomas and a new baby Grace Ellen in 1886.

Women were not on the electoral role until after 1913 I think and prior it was not compulsory for anyone I believe. (no expert) These results are from BDM's ::)

IF you are looking for people it is best to give as much information as possible with parents and ages, siblings and so on. You will get more help that way, there are some real Genius's on RC that can dig up a dead rat if needed. ;D

Not my Jane E.

I have BDM certs on the family when they have been registered  I know there were 'musters' taken and I assumed that is what was being looked at.

Thank you Neil.

I have some pre federation rolls for NSW, hardcopy so not easy to search through.

Coonamble was its own Police District, and was within the electorate of The Bogan.     I have not found HOWER on my paper copies, sorry.

You mention that you have BDM certs .... do these indicate if they refer to the town or could they be referring to the Police District, or perhaps to the NSW BDM district (all slightly different geographical areas, meant to test the FH buffs searching for Neil's dead rats !).

May I ask why you are seeking the info, perhaps there's an alterative way to find it for you.... eg 1903 NSW ER .... this is when females became eligible to enrol in NSW.  Of course it was not yet compulsory.

Cheers,  JM

Yes the BDM's have all the information you mention.  Chasing a 10 year period c1885's in Coonamble as the father's death was unregistered.   One child was born & died in Coonamble.

Thank you for your time JM & Neil

The NSW State Library has far more pre1900 rolls than me  and they also have a full section devoted to Family History...

Cheers JM
