For William and Elizabeth is there a further number in their references?
I have relatives in this cemetery and the references in the A section have
A##/###/###### where# represents a number
I will be passing the cemetery today and if I have enough time call in for you

There are thousands of headstone photos from Mount Jerome Cemetery on the above link. I am not too sure how you can narrow down the search though. If I figure it out I'll get back here!!

Stopped and had a look for you
The five digit reference is used for a specific grave and without it you just have a section location but I found gravestones for Payne's that match some of your postings; I need to upload and feed the kids! Will do later in the day

wonder in the future can we put a headstone for William in the common area

From what I know if you can prove lineage from anyone buried in a common grave you can purchase it. If it is shared by unrelated persons the first party to request purchase can do so. You must own a grave to put a headstone on it. It can only be owned by one person (it cannot be shared ownership).
I meant to follow this up with as my OH's gggp's are buried together in a common grave and I investigated this a while ago but left on the long finger. Should get back to that.....

Here's a link to what hopefully is all the Payne entries for Mt Jerome in igp-web.
http://goo.gl/cZ5wl
What you do with each one is click on the link to go the page of text inscriptions, noting down the page number (1-43, you'll see the number ar the end of the page address for each page). Next, find all instances of Payne or Paine with your find/search function in your browser. Then note down the position of the Payne/Paine record within the 150 records on the page. Then if you want the corresponding photograph you'll find it in the same order within the 150 photos for those records, which you'll find in the middle column of the following page already given to you in Reply no. 2 above. e.g If a text record is 60th out of the 150 on, say, page 32, the photograph will also be 60th on the 32nd page of photos.
