Great to hear your blog is so successful
The problem would be if everyone that had a blog somewhere else in the world, put it on the NZ board, we would be overloaded with blogs. LOL..at least thats how I see it, others may see it differently. The great thing about this board is that it has a different board for each area. If any NZers have family from that area, you will find they will come and look at the resources available.
If you have a New Zealand resource blog as well, make a post and the mod will put it in the resource section

Hi Althea I aint a number cruncher but am aware of ther importance of making people aware of information that may assist in their research . Was some perplexed why no NZ " hits " shown on stats showing locus of viewers . Pleased to say 15 responses from the land of the long white cloud in last 24 hours which is pleasing . There are blogs and there are blogs . Information is to be desseminated . Have a particular interest in NZ as my ancestor moved to Little Hutt and introduced tomatoes to the country Another was was harbour master at Lyttleton I have two second cousins there so not exactly a cold call ! Take care

I think you are mising the point..New Zealand board for New Zealand based resources...information
How about posting here what you topics you have covered for Perthshire..that will probably then bring some more traffic if its numbers you are after

With respect Althea, point NOT missed and as I said previously numbers irrelevant and dessemination of available info critical , hence the posting . One has to go beyond one's back yard to seek out the past .As a point on information :In 2006, the number of people born in Scotland was recorded as 29,016 [1], making it the eighth most common place of birth. In 1956, the figure was 46,401, making Scotland the second most common place of birth.
However, these figures only include people born in Scotland, not those New Zealanders who claim a Scottish identity through their parents, grandparents, or even further back. In addition, many New Zealanders come from mixed origins, with Scottish New Zealanders co-identifying as Māori or another ethnic group.
In 2006, 15,039 self-identified as Scottish. That is fairly apposite - awareness of information to improve and extend research !
