Title: Elizabeth Kenney
Post by: EdCan on Wednesday 28 March 12 17:54 BST (UK)
Would like to find what happened to Elizabeth and sons Charles and David after husband/father died. Elizabeth husband Albert and sons are with her parents Charles and Ann Copeland in Kent Ontario in 1891. Albert died 1897, Ann Copeland died 1897 and Charles Copeland died 1903. I can not find Elizabeth and boys in 1901 or 1911 nor in 1900 US census. Elizabeth born abt 1858 Ontario, Charles born abt 1882 Ontario and David born abt 1884 US.

Esther Ann (Campbell) Rae must have died in childbirth ( note he's living with Campbells in 1891 but no son, so he died as well?)  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F2GW-JHN
No she died the following year  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JD1Y-72P
Is this the son?  Wrong date but most fits  http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/001042-119.01-e.php?&id_nbr=594749

Thanks J.J. - much appreciated

I had another look for Charles and David with no luck. I wonder if they were casualties in WW1 and how would I go about looking for them?

Don't see any marriages off hand for either...Nor do I see them in CEF signups but you can look through yourself

There is a Charles Kenney, and a Charlie Kenny buried in Maple Leaf cemetery Chatham where Albert E Kenny was interred...  http://ocfa.islandnet.com/ocfa-search.php
Oddly none of the children appear on the Wesleyan Methodist Baptismal index...
had you noted the birth of a girl? Ann Elizabeth Kinney https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F224-N94

I saw the possible Charles Kenney in Male Leaf cemetary and also the daughter Ann Elizabeth who was born 18881 and died 1882. The boys went somewhere the question is where.

Thanks - much appreciated

Follow the links on the OCFA site back to homepage "Once you have located an ancestor in OCFA and know the Reference number..." & contact them to see if you can find out more on the Charles & Charlie buried there... You also have a date of death for the mother so perhaps an obit can be found...Also the next census will reveal more, with patience.
( Have swithced the Elizabeth and Ann for the birth of the child, as noted I had written it backwards)

I thought this was close but the more I look at it I find this is not a match obviously.

I too have an Ann Elizabeth Kenney who shows born in Woodslee Ontario December of 1850,  shows as 9 years old in the 1861 census,  and then in the 1871 census she isn't there.  But there is nothing about internment at their church. So she may not have passed away.   I can only assume by 1871 she was married off somewhere as she's be around 20.

If there is any relation I'd appreciate any help :)

I have not researched Albert Kenney family so unable to say if Ann Elizabeth(1850) is a relative or not.

Sorry

Hopefully a mod will remove your request and my reply to a thread of your own (There is a place for beginners as well if you want to learn more about the site)
If this is Thomas Kenney & Bridget , her surname might be badly transcribed...Carl, Carol, carroll, Carrell, Carrie
( Was there a Marie  https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results#count=20&query=%2Bsurname%3AKenney~%20%2Bbirth_place%3Awoodslee  )
O.k. Mary who must have remarried...https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JX9J-6LG
and the death actually gives their lot number ?      Lot 19 Con. 3

Found a great deal of them, but not Ann   http://www.urlm.in/qtir

I see they are Catholic https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M43N-QNY so you may want to look for a death or marriage under her middle name as well.
Wow, big family www.automatedgenealogy.com/census52/View.jsp?id=3806&highlight=17

I love how all little wee girls are "Spinsters" and all little boys are "Labourer"

Yeah thanks, I spent countless hours researching and sifting through untranscribed church records and some poorly transcribed ones.  Some in french that were unreadable where I took it into photoshop etc to try and enhance it.   I've found Bridget Carrol as Cahill and many other variations.  I've found them listed as "Kinney"  and "Kensy" as well.  It is frustrating.   Thomas had 12 kids, or should I say Bridget bore them 12.  But I'm pretty sure 2 of them were either stillborn or died in infancy.  There were 2 Catherines and 2 Edwards.

I've managed to reconstruct and reconnect many branches of the family.  It is amazing how many there are now all stemming from these 2 people.  Now I'm just looking for all the missing ones that we've never found death certificates and also missing people who are alive now who I've been unable to find.   I also am working on tracing the roots back in Waterford Ireland which has been impossible even with the help of someone in Dublin getting all the records for me.
