Hi i'm looking to trace my Great Grandads family. He's name is John Walsh i checked on the 1911 cenus and found him living in Cloughbrody Thomastown Co Kilkenny he was married to a Mary Anne Deady but on the Church records her birth name is Marion.
John recorded age on the Cenus is 38 what i'm looking for are he' parents names and the location where he was born any help will be app.

I'd say the first step is to look for the marriage of John and Mary, since that will show their father's names and occupations, and could help locate them on the 1911, or 1901 census (when it becomes available).
The census form shows that in 1911 they were married 19 years - so about 1892. Since they were both born in Co. Kilkenny it seems likely that that's where they married also. See the topic 2 Minute Introduction to Irish Records (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442233.0.html) for details on searching the BMD index, ordering certs etc.

Thanks
I think he occupation was a general labourer and my my great grandmother was the local district nurse i do know that 1901 cenus shows that mary deady was at home 1901 the age shown was 19 could this be a mistake.

The marriage record is on the civil records on www.familysearch.org
Mary Anne Deady Jan - Mar 1892 Thomastown Reg. District, Vol 4 page 575
see here for info on getting cert www.groireland.ie
The cert should give you both father's names & occupations and the addresses at time of marriage for the couple
The church record is on www.irish-roots.ie it costs €5 to view
Be warned that Walsh is one of the most common names in Kilkenny so you need to be very sure you've got the correct John Walsh

Marianne/Marian would be variations on Mary Anne. My gggrandmother was christened Mary Anne but often referred to as Marianne in documents.

Registration district: Thomastown
Event type: Birth
Quarter and year: Jan-Mar 1882

Rightly or wrongly I reckon John Walsh of Cloghbrody may be one of my Walshs. If so, his parents were Richard Walsh and Catherine Walsh (nee Heaphy). Richard's wife came originally from Ballingarry in County Tipperary where Richard and Catherine got married. Only problem is 38 in 1911 sounds a bit young as previous children were born in the 1860s.
