Hi All,
I have had some trouble connecting the dots so to speak for an Annie McInnes / MacInnes she's a tough nut to trace back.
I have found two parents and unsure which would be the correct linage before purchasing a Certificate transcription.
I have no Death Certificate and the reference I have found has no Parent's Listed....
Annie Lynch 1902 Sydney (BDM NSW) 12134/1092
Details are as follows:
Annie Mcinnes / Macinnes born Sydney c1853 as per he sons 1872 birth record (Charles Lynch)
The two records match but haven't found a correlating record marriage with sufficient information.
Anne Mcinnes born to Neil & Janet Mcinnes (nee McColl) they were married in Sydney c1846 St Andrew's Sydney. (NSW BDM)
Ann McInnes / MacInnes born to Alexander & Mary c1852 Place unknown (NSW BDM)
a fresh pair of eyes will help with this one :)

An inquest into the death of Annie LYNCH in 1902. It doesn't say how old she was, but perhaps not yours?

Hi Debra,
Thanks for your reply,
Hmm.... I hadn't found an Inquest for Annie Yet, It states she was from Brisbane... Looks like the 1902 death registration isn't hers....
Thanks for finding that its getting harder and harder to pinpoint,
I did find a newspaper reference for an Annie Lynch & Mrs O'keefe and a will ....

Debra,
I found that Annie Lynch in SMH she died suddenly in hospital aged 26 so I don't think this is the right one.

I can only find one death for an Annie LYNCH in 1902. Are you sure she died in 1902? or could this be the death of the Annie LYNCH in hospital?
Cheers Ted
-
Hi Ted,
The reference in for Annie Lynch 1902 was the only one I have found to date in Sydney, I have been periodically trolling thru the indexes looking in both Sydney & Melbourne as Edward Lynch I traced to Melbourne too he came on the Southern Cross from Melbourne to Sydney.

Hi,
Did their son born in Sydney in 1872, marry? and if so, does his mc show if his parents were still living when he married?
Also, do you have the 1872 birth cert? .... Who registered the birth, and what address for where born please.....
Cheers, JM

Hi Merlin,
Thanks for your reply,
It looks like Neil & Janet are the two whom are Annie's Parents, As they are the only two at the time in Sydney, and knowing that that raises the Question what happened to the family? as Jane Sibling to Ann McInnes disappears and so does her parents Neil & Janet Mcinnes.
Found the marriage for Neil McInnes & Janet McColl 11 Jan 1846 St Andrews, Presbyterian Church Sydney, Trove and the Marriage indexes Australia. Conducted by Rev Mc Garvie.
Also I haven't found via the sands index who lives at 292 Palmer St (Darlinghurst) as Annie McInnes' address was that on her marriage certificate & Charles Lynch's and that would mean she was of age at the time of her marriage to Edward Lynch. However on Charles Lynch's Birth Certificate she is aged 19 and Edward is 32.

Hi All,
I think I May have found Neil Mcinnes in Victoria,
On the Australian Cemetery index at buried in 1867 Creswick, Victoria Born abt 1800 matches
Neil Mcinnes when he came to Australia was 40 in 1840 on the George Fife.
Married Janet McColl in 1846
So far I haven't found Janet under Jane, Jean Mcinnes in Victoria or New South Wales still looking for her and if there were any more siblings.

Hi Merlin,
Thanks again for your reply,
Where did you source them from?
as didn't know the 1847 directory existed
Would explain why I can't find a Janet, Jean or Jane Mcinnes

Barbara's death reg that matches the burial above:
MCINNES Barbara age 77yrs d. 1894 MARNOO #2618
Father: Mcallister Chas
Mother: Annie MCLEOD
Where did you source them from? as didn't know the 1847 directory existed
I have resources that are not online :)
I wouldn't assume that this is your Neil as there are several McInnes families related to each other in Victoria around this time.

But the marriage in Sydney to Janet McColl ? does this potentially mean another marriage?
Barbara's death reg that matches the burial above:
MCINNES Barbara age 77yrs d. 1894 MARNOO #2618

Just changing the subject for a minute, is this exactly what it says on the marriage cert - "Edward Lynch (lacey)" ?
Have you told us yet who the witnesses were? (sorry I am being lazy)
As far as I can see, 292 Palmer Street was a boarding house.

Hi All,
Thanks for all your replies and hard work :), Sorry for the confusion earlier too :(
This morning had a look at Neil Mcinnes / Macinnes / Mcinnis
Found a Neil Mcinnes in argyle in 1856 But diappears in NSW after this date.
However there are two Neil MCINNES / MCINNIS approx the same age and entering the country on via Port Phillip Melbourne Vic and the other entering the county in Sydney New South Wales on the George Fife.
I hadn't found a record in NSW so I looked elsewhere and found NEIL in Victoria. (this didn't make sense to me) as he can't be in two places at once.
Also found A Janet Jack [Alias] Janet Mccoll (hailed from Edinburgh, Scotland) as a convict to Van Diemans Land (TAS) in 1843 but no ticket of leave yet. or how she got to NSW via a vessel haven't been able to track her down that way either.
(this is new territory for me at the moment haven't had the trouble of tracking records down this much before earlier than 1840 in Australia feels like im going around in circles ::) )

Akira

Re Annie
If she was alive in NSW IN 1903, and with her son Charles LACEY, then I have not sighted her on the NSW ER for 1903 in the electorate of Parkes, and polling at Granville ....
NSW BDM
1900 marriage Charles L LACEY to Mary I HOLMES (as per various earlier posts #5327)
1903 birth of twins to Charles and Mary I registered Granville district #3387, 3388
NSW ER 1903 PARKES, polling at Granville
Charles LACEY, Sydney Road, a labourer (this suggests to me that he had enrolled at that address some time before the roll was prepared to include females .... there are many examples where it is logical to presume that the effort needed to get all the females on the roll for the first time meant that the males details were not updated for the printer to include recent changes of address within the one polling place)
Mary LACEY, Alfred street, dd
Sands 1905
Charles LACEY Alfred st, Granville

So they are two different Janet's, the convict still in VDL for her CF in Dec 1852 & the marriage of the other in NSW as follows:
Janet MCCOLL (single) to Neil MCINNES (single) on 11 Feb 1846, St Andrew's Scots Church, Presbyterian, Sydney. #V18463986 74B

Going back to the Neil McINNES and Barbara McINNES in the same grave in Creswick cemetery, Victoria.
Quote:
MCINNES Neil (born Inverness) age 66yrs d. 1867 #8047 (thus b abt 1801)
Father: Malcolm
Mother: Flora UNKNOWN
McInnes Neil 67yrs: Residence - Birches Creek
McInnes Barbara 77yrs: Widow, residence Marnoo, died 12 Jan 1894 (thus b abt 1817)
An online tree suggests that Barbara and Neil MCINNES are husband and wife, married 1836 in Scotland. They did have a daughter Annie McINNES, b 1851, Inverness, Scotland. It seems likely that she is the Annie McLENNAN mentioned in the will of Barbara.
So it's unlikely this family is connected with your Annie. :(

V1846295 77/1846 MCCOLL ARCHIBALD MCDONALD MARY JB

Not unusual... not a year apart ... By the 1840s the clergy sent (oops add quarterly )summaries to their denominations HO so the 1846 could be that HO... or 1845 could be a volunteers mis read. The ECR index was prepared c1930s and given to NSWBDM and also to NSWSL. You can see the film at the SL in Macquarie St Sydney and note down the info!
Same with the second example. Back in earlier decades Mcquarie ordered clergy to transmit to NSW Chaplains so by 1820s there are various denomination transmitting to say St Philips CofE in Sydney and these are indexed at NSWBDM.
There are current volunteers transcribing parish registers in various locations through rural NSW and seem tobe picking up registers missed back in 1930s ...
Cheers JM

I will try to figure out who was Archibold but seems possible he was related to Janet ...
