hi there
is there any way that i can access workhouse records?my nan was fostered from there in around 1910,i cant find her on the 1911 census and was wandering if any info is given out about when the left the workhouse!!!

I stumbled across this thread. I live in the US (I'm a recent emigree!) but the information kept in Maidstone is quite staggering and asked a local researcher to look there on my behalf. My grandfather was born in the workhouse, and the information I got back showed approximately when he was born (my gt grandmother came in after dinner and game birth before breakfast the next morning). It is well worth getting one records. There were other records that were uncovered too about other ancestors that were truly enlightening. I'm planning a trip back to England soon - and a visit to the archives is on the list of things to do!
