Title: Help neede in indentifying this Uniform & Cap Badge
Post by: Lois in Canada on Thursday 15 March 12 02:32 GMT (UK)
I found this old picture in my Nana's album of family pictures, therefore it could have been taken in Ontario, Canada or Wales. I rather suspect it was taken in the early 1900s. Does anyone recognize the uniform or the cap badge?  I would love to know more about him because he is likely my relative.

Any ideas will be much appreciated.

I think its a British Fusilier Regiment( cant be 100% positive with cap badge as a few regiments with similar)  circa 1914-1918

It could be Royal Welsh Fusiliers as he looks to have a two part shoulder title http://www.northeastmedals.co.uk/british_regiment/royal_welsh_welch_fusiliers.htm

Had a quick dig through Anpestry...There are a number of Samuel Hughes...

Not the first chappy with pension records, who from Rhondda, as he was discharged in 1914...

There are a number of MICs to dig through  ;D

Thank you for the confirmation. Now on to my next challenge - finding a Hughes or Jones relative born about 1880 - 1890.
