Title: looking for RAF records second world war
Post by: brianog on Tuesday 13 March 12 09:42 GMT (UK)
Can anyone help. I'm looking for the RAF records for a John Ryan from Dublin. I'm having trouble locating him on Kew website. I don't have his number but know he was stationed in Italy during the second world war. Thanks a million

There is information here:
http://www.raf.mod.uk/ahb/recordsofservice/

But basically you have to wait for 25 years after his death, and pay a fee of £30, for full service history.

The Records Department at RAF Museum, Hendon, holds information on RAF wartime casualties. Telephone 020 8205 226 (general enquiries) and ask for archives. They are invariably most helpful.

Another source of information may be aircrewremembrance.com
