Have hit a brick wall with my GG Grandfather. His name has several versions. In the 1871 census he appears as Edward Trainer b 1832 in Ventnor.
He is listed in other locations as John Edward Trainer with the variants of Trainer appearing. I have been unable to find any trace of him before or after 1871. Married Sarah Murrell in Kensington sept 1864. looking for any trace of this family that may be available on IOW

Hi if I am looking at the correct 1871 census in Chelsea RG10/77/76/56, then Edward states he was born in Ireland, with what appears to be Ventnor following the Ireland?

1881 has the family transcribed as TRAINES in the Parish of St John the Evangelist (London).

Elizabeth c1870 Chelsea
Louisa c1873 Fulham
Charles c1877 Chelsea

Louisa marries William PEARCE in 1896 quoting dad as Edward TRAINER a labourer. The witnesses were Thos and Lydia TRAINER.

Thomas married Lydia Harriett GARNHAM 1891 Kensington (witnesses for Louisa's marriage a few years later)

Elizabeth married Henry Arthur BLAKE 1891 Kensington
