Can I first say what a fabulously detailed scan of a photo. I might suggest to the mods (ie scrimnet) that this one is held as a model example of the type of scan we like to work with. You should see some of the ones we get on here, size of a postage stamp and barely showing the man let alone uniform details.
Anyhow, I digress.... :)

Medal some version of long service and good conduct medal I'd say, regular army/volunteers.

thanks mmm45,neil1821 and tomrees for your input and help on the photo i can now narrow it down to a time period and area :D i now think its one of two John Stewarts in the area at the time

Yes you can buy credits but theres a number of matches for John Stewarts was he born Aberdeenshire?
