hi,
  trying to find the death of david davies, i have found 3 possible on free bmd with the following refs:
8d340-jun 1930---- 8d1484-mar 1940--- 8d496--jun 1944, all 3 could be david, but how could i check without buying the certifcates--which could be wrong. david was born in pendlebury in 1875 to parents john and darah davies// he married a elizabeth nee jones in may 1896 at st augustines and had 1 son --william

Do you know where he lived?
Check electoral rolls fr'instance.

The 1930 death was aged 53 at death - so born c 1877.
The 1940 death was aged 66 at death - so born c 1874.
The 1944 death was aged 64 at death - so born c 1880.

I'd go for the 1940 death!
