Hi

Rootschatters on the Yorkshire (East Riding) board are far more likely to have the local knowledge to help you further with this query.
Would you like me to move your topic to the Yorkshire (East Riding) board?

Thankyou very much for your reply Valda. I've been to Hull today and discovered that I got the cemetery wrong ! He was buried at another cemetery and I have to contact the place in Beverley instead. it's a nuisance. I think it would have been better to have the whole of the archives in Hull !  Thanks again.  Janet

The East Yorkshire Family History Society ( see their website) has copies of  Cottingham Cemetery Memorial inscriptions for sale.  :)  I'm a member of this society and have done many Memorial inscription recording sessions with them. If you need more info, please let me know via rootschat.

Thankyou very much for your offer of help. I'm now not sure where my ancestor was buried and think I need to contact the Treasure House at Beverley.   Janet
