Does any one know of any Puckett surname in England from the 1600's ???  I have searched and researched this name and I have had no results.

My 12th Great Grand Father came from England in the mid 1600's as from were in England, no ones that I know of knows. ???  He was a Headright and I know he recived 500 acres of land in Henrico Co., Virginia from the Crown.

Next question: Does any one know were the records are that would have the information as to who granted this land and when and were ???

Next question: Does any one know of any sources for Headright information in England ???

Please let me know any thing that will help me find were my great grandfather comes from.  I need to jump the big pond and I would like to do it befor I give up the ghost ;D.

There is a Puckett in my family.. not sure which side... Sigrist or Temple. I think it was a Jenny or Janie Puckett!

I had a look at the LDS site and it certainly bears out the information that kenhar has given you.

All the Pucketts listed appear to be from the Dorset area.
