Title: Marriage Sophia Smith
Post by: TTT on Tuesday 28 February 12 18:11 GMT (UK)
Hi,
I am looking for a marriage of a Sophia Smith of hemel Hempstead to a benjamin Lloyd of Hanley Castle Worcestershire.
They married about 1760-1770.
There is a reference in the national Archives to them and it states Sophia's father as William Smith.
Can someomne please assist inwhere and how I would go about finding any marriage details of the banns or Licence etc. They lived in Hanley Castle all there married lives. Benjamin was a Baptist and a deacon of the Batist Chapel at Upton upon Severn.
Look forward to hearing from anyone.
Thanks Tony

Hi,

The best thing to do is to contact the local Family History Library or Registry Office for that area, who would be able to help you and let you know where these records are kept and whether they could possibly do a search in the Parish Records for the banns and the marriage.

There is also a another site which might be useful to you, called Birmingham and Midland Society.

Hope this helps a little.

There are Lloyd's and Smith's to be found here, not ben or Sophia, but some may prove to be related.
