Elizabeth(b. 1873) , William(b. 1874) born Girvan are on the IGI.

Hi I also have Love's from Ayrshire I don't have Thomas but wonder if it is another branch of the same family, as far as I can see some of them came from Ireland, I don't have a lot of the children for various generations but prehaps we could compare notes

thanks for your reply- i dont have much, i know william married a mary mcculloch in 1903, his mother agnes had remarried and become Mcmaths, i believe thomas was a blacksmith

There is a marriage for a Francis McMath and Agnes Hyslop in 1881 Girvan Ayr
That may affect any census searches  :-\

I have a 4x greatgrandmother Hannah Love, she married a  Alexander Gemmel

1799 Ardrossan.

Not sure where the Margt. comes from in 1881 but birthplace given as Colmonell Ayr

IGI has -
Agnes Hyslop baptism 21st Feb. 1853 Colmonell Ayr
parents Robert Hyslop and Jane McCormick

Best to check the 1872 marriage certificate for parents names

thanks everyone, i certainly have lots to go on, i like sp but usually end up spending a small fortune so was trying to get the right info to start with,
