Looking for the marriage and children of Abraham and Alice, of Aghowle. They were possibly married about 1780. Any information greatly appreciated.

Hi Peggy- I saw your posting for an Abraham Brownrigg and Alice. I might have a match for you but I don't have too much information. Pleaes get back to me. Judy

Hi Judy,
My ggg grandfather was William Brownrigg from Mullins, Parish of Kilcommon, Co. Wicklow Ireland. He married Jane Morris, also of Ireland, probably the same parish. William was born in 1785 and emigrated to L'Acadie, Quebec in 1823, along with 6
children, one of whom was Richard my gg grandfather. It has been
suggested that his parents might be Abraham and Alice of Aghowle. Only a possibility. I would so like to find his parents. Any information greatly appreciated.

I guess we don't match... My William Brownrigg was married to Alice Nickson/Nixon. She was of Co. Wicklow, he of Wexford. Sorry about that. I got my families mixed up- Alice's sister married someone from Co. Wicklow. I have other Brownriggs- these are the names they married into: Borbridge, Sherwood & Bradley. Some of my Brownriggs from Co. Wicklow: Henry, John, Mary Brass Sherwood, Samuel. Any of these familiar? Judy

Hi Judy,
None of those names sound familiar, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were related somewhere along the line. My William had children named William, Catherine, Stephen, Richard, Jane, Susannah, Marianna, and Andrew Morris Brownrigg. Thank you for contacting me-it might have been a match.

I think you are right.... Just FYI: I have a Catherine, John, William and a Jane. And a Richard (Nickson/Nixon) Brownrigg. Take care, Judy

I am researching Borbidge (and variants) in Co. Wicklow and Dublin. My 5x Great Grandparents were Frances Borbidge and Andrew Webb who married prior to 1800.

Children born to Abraham and Alice Brownrigg are listed on www.irishgenealogy.ie
The children were baptised in Aghold Parish, Carlow during the 1780s. Names showing are John, Abraham, William b 1785 and Mary Anna.
There may be more but I just did a quick search.
Cheers

Thanks very much. I will check it out. It was suggested that these were possible parents before. I just wondered why the names
Abraham and Alice are not found in the descendants.
