I am trying to trace the Musson family who left Grantham in 1913, Arthur (b. 1880) & Elizabeth (b. 1884) with sons Maurice (b. 1906) and Cyril (b. 1908), would anyone
be able to look up maybe death records for them to give an idea where they were? Or maybe marriage records for the two sons please? Any help much appreciated Bertie

Maurice Arthur (b 19 Oct 1905) died Nottingham May 1987, perhaps married Basford (Notts) 1935 to Hilda A JACKLIN
George Cyril (but Cyril George in 1911) ... can't find him after 1911.

Thanks Geoff, what's the easiest way to tracing where they were living in Nottingham?
Any death results for the parents? Thanks again Bertie

The problem with MUSSONs is that they all lived within 20 miles of Grantham http://gbnames.publicprofiler.org/Map.aspx?name=MUSSON&year=1881&altyear=1998&country=GB&type=name
(I know because my cousin had a MUSSON grandma.)
If you can't find them where you expect to find them and someone of the same name turns up 10 miles away, you're not sure if it's the right one or not. :-\
As an example, I can see the deaths of an Arthur
Q4 1943 aged 65, Basford (Notts)
Q1 1964 aged 84, Bourne
and Elizabeth,
Q1 1937 (54) Nottingham
Q2 1968 (83) Grantham
???

My guess would be Arthur reg Bourne and Elizabeth reg Grantham, as they were from this area, maybe.
Would anyone be able to look up Bourne school registers for the children Maurice and Cyril, we know they left Grantham in 1913 so maybe they went to Bourne? Thank again Bertie

Would anybody be able to check Bourne school registers for me if possible, thanks Bertie

I am trying to trace me father's history from 1907 to 1956 when he married my mother. His name was George Cyril Musson , born 1907, lived in Grantham but then i know they moved to Hucknall, Nottingham at some point. He had a brother Maurice and a sister Muriel, the latter for which I know virtually nothing. Any help appreciated - just starting out on this process.

Thanks Kathy. I think they moved to a place called Basford where their sister Frances Muriel Musson was born in 1916. Arthur Musson died in Basford in 1943 I think.- I always had been told they lived in Hucknall but that may have been incorrect.
Frances Muriel had a daughter Janet born in Worksop
Anyway - many thanks for your help - if any of this is useful toyou let me know

I think we must have the same ancestors/relatives.
My great grandfather was lodging with his uncle at 42 Stamford street in 1911. When they moved in 1913 we didn't know where they went, did they go to Basford all together. I am trying to trace what happened to John Thomas Hill after that. Maybe joined up or moved with them??
Do you know anything about the Hill family please???
Thanks
-
hi yes it looks that way. john T P Hill marrying Annie Lizzie Musson - a sister of my father's father.
Anyway, unfortunately I have drawn a blank so far as to what happened after they left Grantham - probably went to Basford where my grandfather died at a later date. My dad ( George Cyril Musson ) mentioned Hucknall also , although I haven't made progress on that front yet. And I have no idea at present of what happened to your relative, their lodger at Stamford St.
If I get any more news I will let you know asap.
kind regards

How exciting all this family history! Did your dad talk much about family? We only learnt of all this extra Hill family about 4 years ago as my grandfather never spoke of it. Does family have any photos of hill/mission relatives? Would love to keep in touch if possible, hopefully more Will turn up!! Fingers crossed.
Thanks for replying
