Hi
Can anyone help, William was born 1801 and married a Sarah in 1822 the surname of Sarah is Rulton or Pulton but I would need anyone with access to the parish records to confirm which it is,
Thank you
Jay

Many Essex Parish Records are available to view on the SEAX site - there is a small charge, but I believe you can sign up for just a day or so.
If the couple had any children after 1837, then the birth cert would be another way of finding Sarah's maiden name.

Sible Hedingham registers.
William Sillito
baptised 20th September, 1801
son of John and Rebecca.

William Sillitoe married Sarah Rulton 21st Apr 1822 Sible Hedingham.
Regards Yvonne.

Yes it looks like Rulton and one of the witnesses was an Edward Rulton. An Edward Rulton married a Susan Pamplin in Sible Hedingham in 1783.
Couldn't see a baptism for Sarah.

Hello Jayby,
I don't know where in the world you are, but there are still Sillitoes and Rultons in the Hedingham area, Mr Sillitoe built our bookcases for us 18 years ago, and his boy did some local carpentry work for us, ( and very good it was) about five years ago, and Doug Rulton has done some plumbing work for us,
Regards,,

Hello Boblima
Thank you its nice to know that the family are still going well in the area after hundreds of years.
I often wonder if we look anything like each other, ? I know that I have Glaucoma and this has come from the Sillito family.
thanks again for your interest

Hi jayby
Just found your post. Whilst the names you mention are not familiar to me, I descend from a Sible Hedingham Sillitoe(o) line, though it is not until a 1792 marriage of Jesse Sillitoe & Ruth Nash in Sibe Hedingham.
If you ever find this couple, or a Wiseman and Sillitoe marriage I may be able to help.

Hello Geoff
Thanks for the interest, I do have Jesse born 1773who married Ruth the only child I have for them is Judith born 1795 who married John Wiseman . Jesse parents were Jesse 1742 married to Mary, then Thomas born 1705 married to Ann carter [9children] Thomas 1684 Married Elizabeth Allison [6 children] And then Thomas 1660
They were all from Sible Hedingham area.
Help with any other children of Jesse would be appreciated
Thanks again Jay

Hi Jay,
I have it slightly differently (does not mean I am right).
When Jesse Sillitoe married Ruth 04 Dec 1792 he was a widower & Ruth was a widow. She married as Ruth Goody, but I have her maiden name as Nash.
I have it that Jesse's first wife was Mary Mullings and they married 24 Nov 1767. I have 7 children for them. These include Jesse 1772-1773 & Jesse 1785-1823.
Like you, the only child I have for Jesse & Ruth is Judith 1795-1825.
I suspect it all hinges on a burial record : Jesse son of Jesse and Mary Sillitoe 4th June 1773
As I said, I may not be right and would love to discuss it more, am happy to be corrected if need be, and to pass on details of the records I have.
All the above events are from Sible Hedingham.
