Thank you to everyone that has helped me with my research, just a couple more questions.
On a previous post MalNZ offered:
Hadley, Christiana. settlement 9/4/1880. filed 14/7/1902 132 Pounds. executors, grandchildren.
Christina died in 1893 could the settlement 1880 be a typo?
Filed 1902 what does this mean?
Would the orginal record give more info and where would I get this?
Henry Josiah Wade born 1863 Christchurch NZ died in Victoria AU. I have a clipping that states Henry "served his appreticeship to the saddlery business with Mr W White of Christchurch, and afterwards worked at his trade in many of the principal centres in New Zealand"
Any ideas on who Mr W White is?
Is it possible to find apprentice or school records?
I think that is all!!
;D

Yes School records could be available..contact the libraries or NZSG groups, also search what is available at archives
Re Mr White: I looked at 1875 Directory for Canterbury..no entry under sadlers..may need later years..these can be browsed for free online
