Hello Fizzy
Would be interested to know the dates of birth for John & Mary Youlton. Also the maiden name of Mary Youlton. Did they have any other children apart from Mary. Did William Pound originate in Cornwall & his date of birth. Found John & Mary Youlton living in Canada on the 1851 census. Did William Pound die or were he & Mary divorced as she went on to marry a relative of mine in U.S.A. Lots of questions with no answers.

I can find no baptism for a Mary Youlton in St Columb in any year.
Where did you get your info from ?

Perhaps this is your Mary (1822)?
Baptism 11th June 1821, Davidstow
Mary Youlton, daughter of John & Mary, of Tremeal, Labourer
There is also:
Baptism 2nd February 1824, Davidstow
Thomas Youlton, son of John & Mary, of Tremeal, Labourer

Yes I found the Davidstow ones but was seeing if I could connect them to St Columb in any way.

No proof that Mary was born in St.Columb. Only found marriage to William Pound March qtr. 1849 St. Columb so rightly or wrongly assumed that she was born in that area. Only proof of age & parents comes from second marriage in Canada. Mary Pound age 38 birth place Cornwall, England. Parents John & Mary Youlton.

the Davidstow parish records are online at FamilySearch. John Yolten married Mary Rowe 20/1/1821, both otp, and made their marks, witnesses Edward Jenkin & Joseph Poul(?).
I wonder if this is the parents in 1841?

Thanks to Fizzy bubble, KGarrad & osprey
You have given me some food for thought with your suggestions.
The 1841 census - Tregatta looks promising. Found a John Youlton on 1861 census Canada born England 1839c (single) :-*

now that's a possible. I couldn't see either John or Mary on the 1851 census, so wondered if they had all left. I can find a Thomas who isn't the one baptised in Davidstow, he was baptised 25/9/1825 at Tintagel. He also marries in 1849 and is at Tregatta in 1851

Davidstow parish records show a burial for Thomas Youlton aged 66, abode Tremeal, who could be the father of John.
