Title: Astles and Millington
Post by: stanspot on Friday 17 February 12 14:00 GMT (UK)
I am looking for a marriage of a William Astles born abt 1813 Over, Cheshire and Mary Millington b 1810 Northwich, Cheshire.  Their first child was born in 1836 Northwich, the next  in 1842 Leftwich, Cheshire.
I am also looking for the parents of William.
I know his parents are NOT Elias Astles and Ruth Deakin as I have their son William b 1810 Northwich in my tree.
Thanks

Stan,

I had a look at the 1841 census and William & Mary Astles have an Elizabeth Evans in the household aged 11y. A quick look at marriage indexes on Family Search provides a marriage of a Mary Millington to a Charles Evans on 25 JUL 1830 at Great Budworth, and a subsequent baptism of an Elizabeth Evans at Davenham 3rd JUL 1831 to Charles & Mary Evans.
There's a burial for a Charles Evans indexed at Witton 27 JUL 1834 a30y

There's a marriage of a Mary Evans to a William HASLEHURST at Great Budworth 8 JUN 1835 indexed, I feel this might be worth checking the original if you cannot find anything more likely.

Hi stanspot,

You can view the original parish register entry that odessa mentions with either a subscription to, or purchase of vouchers for www.findmypast.co.uk.

Thank you

The marriage of Mary to Charles Evans seems highly probable.
I have the  birth certificate for John Astles, son of William and Mary which states "On 6th January 1842  John  boy to William Astles and Mary Astles nee Millington".  Wm was a Carpenter -  again pointing to the same people as in the 1841 Census .

I have had a look at the marriage of Mary in 1835 in findmypast and the original document says
William Astles - the Astles having several crossed lines through it and Haslehurst written after it so I think you are correct.

Thank you once more.

Now going to look at William Haslehursts births.
