Hello,
I was recently sent this photograph and we're not really sure who it is.
If it's who we think it is this is WWI, taken in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
Any ideas of the Regiment?
I hope the scan is large enough.
Many thanks!

Have you any possible names and place of birth...Canadian Expeditionary Forces Attestation Forms are searchable and viewable online

Fantastic!
This is what the website brings up:
BARKER, JAMES HOWARD
Regimental number(s):
663045
Reference:
RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 433 - 13
Sorry, but any idea what that means??
Thanks!

Hi
Thats just the reference to his file held at the archives.Usually his attestation papers(signing up) would be available to view for free and would have next of kin details to verify.(they may be damaged or destroyed)
You should be able to apply for a full service record of that man from the website...Am unsure if they digitise them or send you hard copies though

I was just sending a response to you to apologize for being so lazy and not actually READING the website itself! ::)
Many thanks for directing me there!!

Thanks everyone for your help!
I was able to identify my great Grandfather, James Barker, as a Lance- Corporal with the 164th Halton & Dufferin Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force.
Best,

Have you identified all the people in the photograph? I have not seen any other posts to identify each person besides James Howard Barker (I know them).
I have this photo as well, my Great Grandfather - Nelson Barker is the boy on the left side of the photo.
Do you have information you would like to share together?
James Howard Barker
Nelson Barker
Norman Barker
Richard Barker

Hello Stephen,
I think I sent you a PM, but not sure! LOL
Let me know if you got it.
Best,
Chris

Hi Stephen and welcome to Rootschat :)
You will need to have made two posts to be able to send or receive a PM (private message)
A reply to this should do the trick.
Chris, you will probably need to send your message again once Stephen has posted.
