Help please,

I am struggling to find Henry and Ann Demmett in the 1861 census (they married 1859 Manchester). I believe they went to Canada as Henry was a soldier and had two children Eliza and Charlotte and possibly a third John Henry whilst there in Quebec, but |I can not find any records of when they left England. I beleive Henry died in Quebec in 1868 and Ann and children came back to England as I have found a possible 1871 census record although it states they were all born in Warrington. |further census records states births as Quebec.

I'm also looking for Henry Demmett's birth record.

I am doing this tree as a favour to a colleague there I have not purchased they marriage certificate.

Any help would be appreciated.

hi,,i will be visiting the Manchester city library next week,,,,as they married at the Cathedral..i will be able to look up the marriage details on microfilm whilst i am there,,,i will post the details next wed or thurs... ;)

I have just found Ann Demmett with her Parents John and Jane Robinson and sister Eliza on the 1861 census in Warrington, it states Ann as married but no husband is there (where is he???)

Jane Demmett's birth is recorded in 1861 in Warrington

Charlotte's birth shows in the free index on FindMyPast for Army births overseas. It took place in Canada in 1865

both made their mark.

There's a John Demmet born in Montreal in 1863 listed in the military records on Find my past which may be worth looking at.
