Hi ellejay

Very few electoral registers from that time period are online.

However, electoral registers are complied by parliamentary constituency, then ward then alphabetical street address.

If you don't have an address to start with, you won't be able to find them in an area as large as Ipswich.

If you don't already have it, you could apply to the General Register Office (www.gro.gov.uk) at Southport for a copy of their marriage certificate. That will give their address at the time of their marriage.

The reference details can be found at www.freebmd.org.uk

I won't post the details as it's too recent but easy to find on freebmd

I have found a Frederick Coates  in Kelly's  1967 directory living at  84  Cardiff Road Ipswich.  The directories only give the name of the head of the house.

Hope this is useful.
