What context have you seen the phrase 'halfway trecastle' in?
Was it on a census? If so can you tell us the year and the ref?

Bit of googling identifies a hamlet called Halfway on the A40 between Trecastle and Llandovery - there's a memorial to a coaching accident caused by a drunk driver there

There is a small cluster of houses at Halfway, a derelict Baptist Chapel with M.Is and nearby chapels/graveyards at Pentrefelin & Cefnarthen. Which families are you interested in?

There are quite a few cottages at Halfway which seems to string itself out along the A40 for quite a long way.  One of the cottages there - Tre Nicholas - does have links with the Nicholas family of Trecastle and I am sure that there will be links with other cottages too.  As Garfydd says, there is a derelict chapel which can be accessed from the main road.  Flowers are still placed on the graves there so there so it is not a totally forgotten area.

As you must appreciate Thomas Jones with a d/o Mary will be a very frequent occurence, do you have any approx. dates? I have a lot of Llywel data will give it a try but given the above proviso an immediate search would not be very profitable=could be looking at any from 1800-1940!.

Hi, just registered here. I saw a post from a member about a Thomas Jones from Halfway, Trecastle/Llwyel. My 2 x great grandmother Margaret Jones was born at Halfway Farm in 1819 to Josiah Jones and Elizabeth Price. She had siblings Morgan and Thomas born about 1816. I’ve been trying to trace Thomas as he doesn’t appear in the 1841 census with his mother and siblings.
I did see a post on here from a member looking for a Thomas with a daughter Mary from Halfway. I can’t find it now. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks
