Hello Fellow Sleuths,
I am trying to get over one hurdle here regarding my ancestor SAM. BOSTON. He married Mary Wakeman on 17 SEP 1724 in Great Barford, according to the classic Family Search website. What I am really striving at finding is the name of his parents. Interestingly there is a christening record for a SAMUEL BOSTON of which the date is 17 SEP 1700 in Eaton Socon, Bedfordshire, England. (Is it a mere coincidence that 17 SEP also happens to be the marriage date of my ancestor SAM BOSTON?). For that christening record (Family Search), the father is listed as JOHANNIS BOSTON.
You have all been so very helpful and I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate your time and energy. Any advice, pointers, look-ups are appreciated.
Thank-you. ~Angela~ :)

The only extra information in the transcript is that the marriage took place by licence. Marriage licences from 1724 haven't been indexed, so I suspect that might mean they don't survive from that period.
However, on Jan 25th 1724/5, Edward Briars married Mary Boston at Great Barford - both were of Eaton Socon. Perhaps a sister?

Thank you kindly, Steven. That name "Mary" does pass down through the Boston generations so I will definitely look into it.
