It's not as simple as that. There are several different repositories in the county of Lanark, so without knowing exactly what you are looking for, it's impossible to say whether or not I (or anyone else) might be going there.
It could, for example, be the Mitchell Library, Park Circus, the Glasgow University Archives, the North Lanarkshire Archives, the City of Glasgow Archives, the North Lanarkshire Council offices, City of Glasgow burials office, Hamilton Public Library, Airdrie Public Library, the Glasgow and West of Scotland Family History Society, South Lanarkshire Council, or somewhere else that hasn't sprung to mind.

You'll get that here www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk - Pay-per-view - very reasonably priced.
Personal visits to the GROS is £15 per day + downloads or prints.
The Mitchell seems to be much the same cost.

Pat, many records are not available to view online at Scotlandspeople but can be accessed at the records office.
Many people are happy to check records for others at the records office if they are spending time doing their own research
