Title: Annie Fenner - Belfast
Post by: Bob2399 on Friday 13 May 05 22:45 BST (UK)
Hi Everybody. I have a relative - Annie Fenner - she is my Great Grandma. Was married to John Charters who I mentioned in an earlier Post. Annie died in 1932 from 120 Cambria Street, Belfast. As for John Charters, I can find no details other than her death certificate. I would appreciate some assistance. I know that she lived at 64 Glenwood Street in December 1895 as this is when my granny was born. Storty has it that she came from 'Coothill' Co. Cavan
Thanks in advance
Bob

Hiya Bob,

I thought of sending a PM to you but had second thoughts ... As most of us tend to be members of one Genealogy website I feel queries relating to people with Belfast connections should be posted on  Belfast Forum  (http://www.belfastforum.co.uk) as well as RootsChat. There are members there who have little interest in genealogy and might not be interested in RootsChat as they love the craic on the Belfast site. They share memories there of old mates from their school days ..  much of the humour on the site is peculiar to Belfast and that's what draws people to the Forum .. we receive messages expressing delight when people find the site whilst surfing the net. You may well wonder how this will assist with your query .. well Belfast people have a tremendous reputation for knowing someone who knows someone which appears to be producing one or two results.

Best wishes in your search,

Chris

Thanks Christopher, I think that I'm already a member on the Belfast Forum but for some reason under a different name?? ( who knows why). I am still having no joy with my Fenners or Charters from then but I am in touch with a descendant of my grannies brother from now, although he can shed no light on them either. In fact it was only the address that he responded to rather that any of the names. Still, he has provided some valuable links and confirmed other details. I have a feeling that Annie Fenner was from England and married John Charters - an Irish Soldier. I have surfed through the Belfast phone book and contacted all charters & Fenners without response.
They are all there somewhere, just waiting for me to find them - I just hope that I find them this side of the Veil!
Thanks again for your valued and interesting assistance to this site. I always look for your comments to others when I visit here.
Bob

Hi Annie.

I’m researching my family and my great grandparents and grandfather lives at 64 Glenwood Street. It looks like they may have been the occupier after your granny.
