Hi All,
Can anyone help with this family who moved to 1 Arthur St. before 1901,
Evan Parry Evans, (born 1860 ish, Cardigan St Mary)Grocer
Margaret (nee Michael, but no marriage record found yet,) (born 1852 ish, Pen Bridell)
James Parry Evans (born 1886, Bedminster (my grandfather))
Lizzie Evans (born 1887 Deptford London) (no record after 1901)
May/Mary Evans (born 1888 Deptford London) No record after 1911 census
William Parry Evans (born 1890 Deptford London) No record after 1901 apart from been mentioned in his fathers will (as William Henry Evans (colliery worker) in 1932.
My mother (only child of James Parry Evans) remembers that Margaret and Evan died within a few years of each other and lived in Blaengwynfi since 1901. I can find no record of their marriage or Margaret's death. I would love to know when and where they were buried.
I suspect that Lizzie might also have died young as my mum had never heard of her. Perhaps she is buried with her parents?
My mum seems to remember that William might have been a teacher but since the death of the parents, James & William were not in touch.
May, reportedly went into a home after her parents died as my mum remembers writing to her for a time but she can't remember what happened to her.
Another interesting point is that Margaret's sister, Esther, also married an Evans (william) who also moved to Abergwynfi but was left a widow before 1911. Again, finding Evans information is very difficult without more insight as it is such a common name.
I would be very happy if anyone who has the knowledge or tools can find any information on this family as I suspect my Mum might have cousins she has never even met.
Thank you to anyone who is able to answer.
Regards
Jane

Hello Jane :)
Welcome to Rootschat!
I found a marriage for Esther Michael and William Evans in 1890
Cardigan volume 11b page 19
Is it possible that Margaret had been married before she married Evan, as she was older?
Kind Regards
Morgan

Think I've found William's birth in the index:
1891 (March quarter)
William Henry Evans
Greenwich volume 1d page 1111
as William was only 7 weeks old on 1891
RG12 Piece 507 Folio 67 Page 2
You say that he was a colliery worker in 1932, so do you think he became a teacher later?
Kind Regards
Morgan
