Hello Everyone,
I am searching for anyone who may have descended from Barnet Munro and Isabella Ross. Barnet was born about 1787 in Kilmuir Easter, Ross and Cromarty. He married Isabella Ross in 1820 in Kilmuir Easter. Following are their children - John Munro b. 1820, Alexander Munro b. 1823, Barbara Munro b. 1825, Helen Munro b. 1827, George Munro b. 1830, Christina Munro b. 1834, Alexander Munro b. 1836, Christina Munro b. 1839. John was born in Logie Easter. The other children were all born in Kilmuir Easter. I descend from Alexander Munro b. 1836. He migrated to Australia in the 1860s, meeting his brother George in Allora, Queensland, Australia.
I hope someone can help me.
Best wishes,
Nibea.

hi there,
this may or may not be of any help to you but the name Barnet Munro sounded familiar to me and i did a search of my computer and came up with the following info (below) in a file called Barnet Munro children 1851 & 1881.
i am sorry, i have no idea if it helps your research or not as it is not a part of my own tree but something that i found a few years ago for someone else searching this name. the file it is saved in is dated 2005 and i can't find anything else as to who i was helping at the time... however if i come across anything else, i will let you know.
kind regards,
maclennan25.

Hi Maclennon 25,
Thank you so much for your message. I have only just picked it up. It is certainly the right family. I think I have the 1851 census details, but not the 1881 information for the Calders and the Munros. It is interesting because, at his death, Lewis Calder was listed as a coal merchant. I think he and his sons had all gone into the coal business. Also, I have information that Hugh Munro was originally a farmer. This all helps to fill in the picture. I would be really interested to find out who you were researching for. However, if you can't remember, don't worry.
Best wishes,
Nibea.

I don't know if this will be of any help to you but I look after the Clan Munro in Australia & would be happy to include your query in our next newsletter. Regards, Don
